Macau is a short 19 hours flight from New York City. During the 16th century it was a Portuguese colony and in 1999 it became Chinese sovereignty; and it will continue to be a sovereign city until 2049. With a population of 700,000 people, a once Taipa village is now a gaming destination for Chinese and global travelers.
Gambling in Macau has been legal since 1850 and it used to be known as the Monte Carlo of the Orient. Today, it is known as the Las Vegas of Asia. Since the transferring in 1999, in 2002 three concessions were awarded to Wynn, Las Vegas Sands, and Galaxy and today now they have the same Casino-hopping culture as Las Vegas.
This Cotai Project is one MGM’s US domestic and global 23 properties.
